Commercial Fire Door Inspections
Commercial fire door inspections are vital protecting all occupants of a building in the event of an emergency situation. Without an inspection followed by regular maintenance fire doors have a higher percentage of likely failure in the event of an emergency life-threatening situation.
Commercial fire doors in high foot-flow buildings are more open to possible damage and should ideally be inspected monthly by reliable trained staff for standard failings like loose fittings, cracks on frames or door closes shutting correctly unaided.. this is in addition to external inspections. Once a Fire door has been inspected, this does not mean it will stay serviceable or compliant, you must ensure as a duty of care the door is maintained over this period.

What is included in an inspection?
Our qualified fire door inspectors carry out a fully comprehensive inspection of all of your fire doors, frames, glazing, ironmongery and surrounding hardware. This includes;
- Door closer
- Hinges
- Certification
- Frames
- Gaps
- Seals
- Latches
- Glazing
- Signage
- Air transfer grilles and dampers

Fire Door inspections need to be carried out periodically throughout the year with intervals depending on the door location and FRA information along with what the risk poses in that area. This can range from every 3 months to once a year.
Fire Doors are a firm barrier between the escaping occupants and the fire itself; this will create the TIME to evacuate safely. If these Doors are not inspected and the door fails, then the TIME is greatly reduced leaving all escaping occupants in danger.
We can carry out this inspection for you keeping your business legal along with peace of mind that your means of escape is not hampered by any faulty Fire Doors.
All our Fire Door inspectors are trained by FDM with backing from GQA qualifications to confirm our competence. Once our Consultant has carried out the survey a report will be provided with any actions required listed.

Resources and Aftercare
Once completed a full written report will be provided for each door inspected, which will detail the faults found with pictures and descriptions. If a door fails the inspection or requires further attention, the inspector will recommend any remedial works to be carried out and recommend a contact if required.
